The project
The "Twister Tower" on King Fahd Road is one of Riyadh's landmark office skyscrapers: 244 metres, four basements, ground floor, three mezzanines, two mechanical floors and 48 office floors topped with a helipad. When it opened it was the eighth-tallest building in Riyadh.
What we delivered
- Networked addressable fire alarm with distributed panels along the full vertical riser, engineered for loop segmentation and survivability across the tower height.
- Integrated voice evacuation with phased logic — alarm floor, floor above and floor below — and distributed amplifier racks to keep the audio path intact under fire conditions.
- Detection for four basement parking levels, mechanical plant rooms, electrical and IT rooms and helipad access routes.
- Full cause-and-effect: lift homing for 24 elevators, stair pressurisation, AHU and smoke-control shutdown, magnetic door release and BMS graphics.
- Fire command centre and graphical annunciation at ground level.
- Civil Defence approval, integrated system testing and handover training.
